KUALA LUMPUR:THE swearing-in ceremony of the Malaysia-China Cultural and Arts Association (PKKMC) at KLPac in Sentul was witnessed by 500 people recently.
PKKMC was formed to create a society where arts and technology develop together.
PKKMC president Tan Kai Hee said that China was chosen because of the country's achievements in these fields, making it a good choice with which to have cultural exchanges.
"We hope that with frequent exchanges between our nations, we can strike a balance between materialism and spirituality.
"In this way, we hope Malaysia will grow to advanced not only economically, but also in terms of culture, tradition, the arts and religious faiths," he said.
To mark the occasion, Malaysia's Hands Percussion team, in collaboration with China's Eight Mallet Percussion team, gave a superb performance.
