Hai-O Enterprise Bhd's pre-tax profit for the second quarter (Q2) ended Oct 31, 2017 rose to RM27.85mil from RM20.32mil in the same quarter a year ago.
Its revenue increased to RM123.53mil from RM99.78mil in the same quarter last year.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Hai-O said the better results were mainly due to contributions from the multi-level marketing (MLM), wholesale and retail divisions.
Hai-O said that given the ever-changing operating environment, it remained cautious and would take proactive measures and implement business strategies to achieve a sustainable performance.
“The MLM division will continue to develop more new products in the second half of the year especially on the lifestyle-related and beverage products in the next quarter.
“New members' recruitment and retention programmes remain one of the on-going activities the division will pursue,” it said.
The group said it remained optimistic it would continue to be profitable in the next quarter.
