GENTING HIGHLANDS: The Tourism Ministry is prepared to present an itemised bill for the RM1.8mil budget for its social media advertising campaign if MCA requests it.
Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen said: “He (party president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek) did not mention about the itemised bill to me yet. But if he does request it, I have no problem (presenting it).”
Dr Ng said this yesterday after giving her speech as a guest of honour at the ChangYu Classic Night dinner to celebrate the relationship between ChangYu Group and Hai-O Enterprise Berhad since 1975.
On Saturday, Dr Chua said the Tourism Ministry should present an itemised bill for the RM1.8mil budget.
Dr Ng reiterated the Cabinet had accepted her explanation that the money was not solely spent on developing a Facebook page.
In Muar, party deputy president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the Tourism Minister had provided a detailed explanation on the issue.
“The Cabinet had also accepted Dr Ng’s report on the project,” said the Health Minister after opening the Kuantan MCA annual general meeting yesterday.
On another matter, Liow said the Tunku Abdul Rahman (TAR) College was set to be upgraded into a university college this year.
“MCA wants to give importance of education not only among the children of its members, but to all Malaysian children,” he said after opening a new building block at SJK(C) Yu Jern in Bukit Pasir last night.
