SINGER Shila Amzah, who won the Asian Wave reality TV singing competition in China a few months ago, caused a stir when she sang at multi-level marketing (MLM) firm Hai-O’s 20th anniversary celebration at Stadium Malawati in Shah Alam recently.
Members of the audience, made up of 8,000 MLM agents and their families, left their seats to take up positions near the stage to snap photographs of the singer, many using just their smartphones.
People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) members, who were in the front of the stadium, were unable to keep the crowd back. They just held their positions to ensure no one ran up on stage.
Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who was seated in the VIP front row and had officiated the event earlier, was awestruck by the sight of the excited fans.
With him were Hai-O Enterprise Berhad group managing director Tan Kai Hee, chairman Tan Sri Osman S. Cassim and managing director Teoh Nee Siang
Shila sang a Mandarin number, Zheng Fu, a song popularised by Chinese star Na Ying and sent the crowd into a frenzy with Adele’s Set Fire to the Rain.
The singer received thunderous applause from the appreciative audience for her energising performance.
Tan, in his speech, told the Hai-O agents that there were tremendous opportunities in the MLM market and success could be achieved with hard work.
“MLM network marketing or multilevel network marketing is a marketing strategy whereby sales people are rewarded on the sales they make and the sales generated by the sales people they bring into the business. Sales people can create a good rapport with consumers and therefore build a huge business network with customers,” he said.
He added that people had benefited from this business therefore anyone could benefit a lot from the same.
“There are no secrets behind it. You need to work hard in order to achieve success. Hard work will always be rewarded,” said Tan.
